Books
- Bridget Jones's Diary by Helen Fielding – Rereading for the first time as a singleton. Wondering if it will be a different experience. Don't expect to land a Mark Darcy (or Colin Firth) as a result, but perhaps new lessons can be learned.
- Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban by J.K. Rowling – Reading to the daughter. A reread for myself, but new to her. At her request, I am doing all of the character voices with accents. My high school theatre experience should be more useful, but somehow I'm still flailing.
- Captain Underpants and the Big, Bad Battle of the Bionic Booger Boy Part 2: The Revenge of the Ridiculous Robo-Boogers by Dav Pilkey – Reading to the son. It's new to both of us, and quite the experience. More books should come with Flip-O-Ramas.
- The Best American Short Stories of the Century edited by John Updike – Reading for the first time. Working from the back to the front so that I can start with the most modern stories first. Hoping to learn from the masters.
- Slings and Arrows – Amazing show about a Canadian theatre company. I have seen it before, but never from the beginning. Have been staying up too late watching it because I can't stop after one episode. I may have a crush on the lead, Paul Gross.
- Top Chef – It's down to the final cheftestants. I'm rooting for Paul now that Beverly is out. There aren't enough awkward nerds in the cooking world, it seems, so I had to root for her.
- How I Met Your Mother – I'm ready for this show to end, but I've invested too much time to give up before the mother is revealed. For the love of God, who is she?!
- Jersey Shore – When Vinny refers to himself and Snooki as the Sam and Diane of their house, I'm more impressed than I should be about the classic TV reference.
- Project Runway All Stars – I'm officially bored. I may need to resort to online summaries to get the results while I watch one of the Real Housewives repeats.
- NBC Thursday night line-up – The Office, 30 Rock, and Parks and Rec. Don't talk to me about Whitney.
